The agreement was signed by Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs, and Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the sixth edition of the TransMEA Exhibition and Conference for Smart Transport, Logistics, and Industry, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Madbouly emphasized that the station represents one of the essential pillars of the Egypt–Saudi interconnection project, which aims to enhance regional energy integration and ensure grid stability for both countries.
The two sides also discussed the importance of adopting diverse forms of investment partnerships, whether between the two governments or through the private sector in both countries, to ensure optimal outcomes.
The announcement came during his meeting with Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and alongside senior executives from the group.
